RapidMade™ specializes in cost effective small batch production that is impossible using traditional manufacturing methods. We utilize the latest in Additive Manufacturing, known more commonly as 3D Printing, to reverse engineer and produce custom and replacement parts for any project. Here are examples of what we can do for your company:
Obsolete Part Replacement and Modification:
The engineers at RapidMade™, in collaboration with Tri-Star Detention, designed, tested, and installed an improved part at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility that significantly decreases friction, and therefore considerably reduces energy costs, wear over time, maintenance, and replacement costs to its facility.
What does this mean for Coffee Creek? This approach enabled the facility to refurbish doors instead of replacing them, saving almost $100,000 PER DOOR as well as gaining additional savings in operational efficiencies.
3D Printed Patterns and Tooling
The University of Oregon asked RapidMade to produce improved Skate Bumps for its campus. We scanned the original part to create a CAD file then used the file to print a pattern which was employed to cast the part. Traditional casting would have been more time consuming and expensive. Investment casting and tooling can also be produced with additive manufacturing techniques.
